Last Sunday I preached on the theme of Evangelism – a word that we can often build up in such a way, given such lofty expectations that in our hearts and minds it can become unattainable, unreachable too overwhelming!
Lets knock that tower down and instead lay foundations from God’s word that form a solid basis of truth, power and purpose as we seek to tell others about Jesus, as we seek to fulfil with great commitment, the great commission.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18-20)
To hopefully help, inspire and to start here are 30 ways to make Jesus known:
1] SPEAK – seems obvious but try it – talk, share, tell other people.
2] TEXT
3] PAINT – If you are artistic, pray, paint and give to a stranger as a message of hope and that
God loves them.
4] SOCIAL ACTION – Groups that change circumstances and situations, but a time may come
to open your mouth and talk also.
5] SOCIA MEDIA – For many Christians this is their mission field where they can have a massive
influence.
6] MUSIC/ SONG
7] INVITE PEOPLE – To church, events at church, where they may meet people who are follow
ing the Way.
8] GIVE OUT SWEETS – (Listen to sermon from last Sunday for more details)
9] POETRY
10] DRAMA
11] DANCE
12] TESTIMONY – Practice sharing your journey to faith in 30 Seconds, 1 Minute and 5 Minutes.
13] SPORT
14] ACTS OF KINDNESS – Because God has been kind to you and loves you.
15] COOKING
16] DEBATING/ DISCUSSION
17] PRAYING FOR PEOPLE – Healing, Issues, Change of Situation.
18] CHRISTIAN LITERATURE – Hand-Out decent Christian literature, books, etc…
19] WRITE – A letter, asking the Lord who needs to receive it.
20] BE PRESENT – when people need you the most.
21] BLOGGING
22] VLOGGING
23] MAKE SOMETHING – pottery, woodwork, metalwork, craft, like PAINT perhaps give to a
stranger as a message of hope and that God loves them.
24] ADVERTISE – Pay to advertise on a billboard or bus.
25] FACEBOOK
26] JUGGLING – I used to juggle and share the gospel using different tricks.
27] WALKING – Join groups of other walkers – a time will come when you may have to open your
mouth and speak! This is where number 12 on this list is handy.
28] INVITE TO ALPHA – Or another Christian course, you may have to journey with them though.
29] PUB QUIZ – Become a regular and an opportunity to share may come.
30] LIVE THE LIFE !! With words and Action.
There are obviously loads more! A Pastor I heard speak at conference once said, “If it’s not immoral, illegal or unbiblical and helps spread the gospel, then do it!”
“Dear Jesus, may we lay foundations on your word. Fill us with by the Holy Spirit with boldness and courage to share you with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
