I can’t help feeling a sense of deep bereavement about the decision on Thursday to distance ourselves from Europe. Mine is a personal sense of sadness shared by some, but I appreciate not by all.
I’ve found comfort in Psalm 46– and a reminder that God is our fortress and our security lies in him. Read it for yourself and live in the good of verse 10.
Some helpful words have also been shared by christian leaders about the future of our nation.
Check out the joint statement by the Archbishops (Justin Welby & John Sentamu) which I think is both wise and hopeful.
There’s also an open letter by Lynn Green (Baptist Union General Sec.) to the European Baptist Federation in the light of the result- affirming our commitment to our brothers and sisters in Christ across Europe irrespective of the referendum result.
