For all of us the things that we once thought normal, routine, every day, have changed.
The things we relied on, the people we relied on, are either not there or have changed.
But Jesus hasn’t changed. He is still the Almighty, creator who sustains all things.
He is the One who will never leave us or forsake us.
He is still our Saviour and Lord, who supplies all our needs and generously so many of our “wants”.
His desire for us all is that we will be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
In Him we have life eternal.
What does Jesus ask of us?
That we would love him.
“Come follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
These are the first words we read of Jesus with, the soon to become, his first disciples.
The last words with them comes with the words “go and make disciples of all nations.”
Followed by “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”
The message of Jesus hasn’t changed.
His word hasn’t changed.
His love hasn’t changed.
His power hasn’t changed.
I pray that He will be the “constant” in our changing world, and that through Him we might shine the light of Jesus in our daily lives, radiating love and hope to the lost world around us, to the people we meet every day.
