In the middle of Holy Week, we approach three significant events – Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day.
Maundy Thursday is an opportunity to stop and remember when Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, demonstrating how to serve and how to genuinely love each other. Jesus knew what was to come and how His disciples would soon find that they would need to hold, support and love each other.
The events of Good Friday are hard to comprehend, hard to take in. I urge you to read the verse below, read it a few times, let the words sink deep into your minds and souls. Spend some time on it, let your mind lead you as you ponder these words.
Jesus spoke these words to his disciples, this happened, this actually happened – and he went through this for YOU.
“They will mock him, spit on him, flog him with a whip, and kill him, but after three days he will rise again.”
Mark 10:34
Spend some time praising Jesus.
Spend some time confessing your sins to the one who died for them.
Spend some time receiving and acknowledging his forgiveness.
Give Him Thanks that he is RISEN and ALIVE today. Tell him what he means to you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you.
Over the days leading up to EASTER may you know him more deeply and be changed by all that these significant events mean for us.
He rose again so that when sin gets us down – we can rise again.
God Bless.
– Mark
